I prefer to show these designs in mono to highlight their basic aesthetic. You can view the development of some of these project at their individual project page.Graphic Design2011 -

I was asked to make an Identity for my dear friend Dieudy. After winning numerous barista championships and giving workshop for big coffee brands she found that it was time to start up her own practice.
The design is based on a retro colour pallet and is inspired by the fluid dark liquid of coffee and it's hot steam. I wanted it to reflect her joyful and passionate character with that personal and craftsman look and feel.Graphic Design, Illustration, Typography2013 -
Some Quality Meat is a directory for high quality tattoo inspiration and culture. It’s an everlasting endeavour into curating the world’s most beautiful tattoos and quality artists. Every week they present a few artists through their astonishing work or unique perspective in this field. Through this they strive to elevate and supports the progression and quality of the tattoo art form.
They asked me to collaborate with them on a series about tattoo craftsman. Before I started producing this series I got involved in the development of their brand film and soon also with the design for their new website directory. Eventually this collaboration evolved in a partnership with me as the new art director for their brand.
For the brand film I worked with a lot of great and talented people like Michel Wongsomenawi, Taufiq Hosen, Dhani Rahmawan and many others. Also for the technical realisation we had a great collaboration with the young and talented guy's from Wittig.
Check out the fully working site at http://www.somequalitymeat.com and create your own tattoo inspiration stream. Creating your own tattoo inspiration stream and sharing your inspiration with your friends through social media are one of the many features this new directory offers. The HQ of Prénatal moved with their entire design department and office into their newly designed building in Amesfoort. This building doesn't only contain their HQ but also their new flagship store and entresol. This entresol contains various professionals that you can visit for advice from future finance for your child to lifestyle and many more.
Prénatal asked us to make an promofilm that would display the mood of this new building, their vision on new and growing life and off course celebrate this joyous occasion. For this project I had the pleasure of collaborating with the talented agency Dhani& in various facets of the production.

This project was a collaboration between me and graphic designer Laressa Mulder for the upcoming fashion designer Winde Rienstra. For this project Winde Rienstra asked us to design her exhibition publication, where she showcased the work she made for the Amsterdam Fashion Week '012. Here series called "Spinnig a Yarn" was inspired by migrating cultures and old production techniques in fashion. For this project I conceptualized the design of the publication, which is inspired by postcards. The postcards contain information about the old techniques she used to produce her work. The postcards can be folded and thorn. This way I wanted to look at the possibility to make an 2-dimensional object more 3 dimensional, organic and give it means to migrate. Laressa Mulder did all the typography and layout for the design.

I made this series for the Zomer Expo '012 exhibition, which focused their theme on love. It symbolizes and portraits the nature of intertwined love. The artworks consist out of a stretchable textile print, which is covered by transparen guitar strings that are connected to pegheads. The pegheads & string represent the way that people tune themselves towards each other in a relationship.
The images itself portrait the deeply rooted emotions on which a relationship is based. The image in the tryptic shows the struggle for individuality and both unity at the same time. (Images will follow)Digital Art, Graphic Design, Photography2012 -

For my graduation project named “Oracle” I made an interactive sculpture that reacts on the presence of its audience. It tries to incorporate the audience into the work of art by tracking a member of the audience and projecting them with video. The sculpture follows the participant’s movements and keeps projecting video until they are out of its range, forcing the participant to be part of the artwork. The sculpture becomes the artist; the participant becomes its canvas.
In the process of developing this sculpture I made several small projects that focused on incorporating the audience into the artwork. All these project(s) involved different techniques and mediums and were based on the Arduino microcontroller and a variety of sensors.Fine Arts, Interaction Design2011 -
For the HRC (Haagse Rugby Club) I was asked to make an recruitment poster for their ladies division. It seemed that they didn't have enough promotional material that motivated young woman to join the sport. The poster design and concept are based on the principle that women's rugby is also for beatifull and delicate woman who aren't afraid of a bit of mud. It was produced as an A2 poster + flyer series.
The photography was done collaboration with Maurice Mikkers.

Life is a photo series of 4 prints symbolising the way biological life arises from inorganic matter through natural processes, and the method by which life on Earth arose.
Through the use of paint and chemicals a “primeval soup" is created that represents the organic molecules that would combine in evermore-complex ways until they form coacervate droplets.
These droplets, like the paint, "grow" by fusion with other droplets, and "reproduce" through fission into daughter droplets, and so create a primitive metabolism in which the outcome is solely dependable on the balance between the molecules represented by the chemicals and the paint. This balance resembles those factors that promote "cell integrity" for cells too survive, and those that do not become extinct.
The photographs are shot in natural light to incorporate the action of sunlight, which is necessary too create an oxygen-less atmosphere in which organic molecules can be created. Oxygen prevents the synthesis of certain organic compounds that are necessary building blocks for the evolution of life.Painting, Photography2011 -

With this exhibition I explored the collaboration between me and other people, art and culture. This collaboration makes it sometimes hard to see my role in these relationships and what the connection between my artwork and me is and was. It are these relations, which also define my art its social context and value. It opens my work up for new impulses and stimulates me to explore my feelings, emotions and connections to other people and societies in relation to art as a catalyst. This concept also depicts for me the ultimate example of modern art today; who is the artist and when is it autonomous?
In Contact Lens I tried to explore and develop this relationship. By making contact through my lens with this new culture, country and society I try to learn more about me as a facilitator. A facilitator between my relationships and the way art communicates these relationships. I tried to focus on the contact that characterizes this relation and the contact it has with its context.

For this intimate, active and informal gathering where interesting people with a wide variety of backgrounds share ideas, stories, passions or something that they love/hate/do/did/know/care about/obsess over with a curious, engaged, interesting group of people I designed an unusual small poster campaign. The concept of this mini poster campaign is based on that passion is part of us all from the very start of human life.
